Pricey bakery comes to poor Cohoes

spam deleted. Thanks! 'here's to your health!' Good to see. Place like the Cake Shop here but food is too expensive, especially given the demographic. Many poor people here. Can't afford a mini pastry for $1.50 or a pie for $35. Is outrageous and illogical given where are situated. Crazy to think people would spend that kind of money when can just go to price chopper and get one for 10. Good luck. I see people coming for a quick coffee or a costly $1.50 small cookie is all. People here don't want to give a dollar for a top at thrift store up street. Run to Community Outreach to get voucher so get free! Is the mentality here. Cohoes is not Latham or Guilderland. Many unemployed on public help. Not sure how long will stay open or will make enough to keep doors open. Store next to it, is another in wrong area. Sells ball gowns. People here walk around outside in their pajamas. Never see anyone in shop. Obviously both places didn't do home work before came here. Could use a hardware store. Open that.

Opportunity and Abundance Abounds

I just got some sage inscense sticks and leaves from a plant, both from friends of mine. I performed a ceremony and cleansed my home and air of negative energy and spirits like they do in church. Someone I don't get on with lived here before and she is a mean-spirited person. Lately I feel the need to protect myself from some people's negative energies. In the business I am in which is jewelry design and sales, I come in contact with alot of people of which many are unhappy and rude. They are this way I know as they don't know another way to act and take their frustrations out on others they think they can with like a sales person.

We all are human beings tho and whie we may have rotten moments and perhaps even days that don't go the way we plan, it is poor excuse to be obnoxious to others. As "The Secret" says positive thinking leads to good feeling and to right action. We are all in this together. Also we are more alike than we think or know. I try to treat others as I like to be treated. This holds true for good business practices too as if I say I will make something for a client I deliver and in a timely manner. REcently a client decided to return some of my merchandise I ahd made for him rather than pay me for the product he had ordered. I have decided not to do business with him anymore, even though I have made $ in the past with him. I don't like losing customers but is best as when I do close a door a window to something better opens.

Wednesday I made a couple of sales and picked up two new accounts. I can see myself doing business with ne of them as she was fair and didn't haggle with me, which I don't like as my prices to store owners are wholesale to begin with. I need to make a profit. The other one haggled which made me wary. She has some items I can get in her store that I may be able to resell but I probably won't as I know the distributor she deals with and waht the prices are and her price she offered wasn't great. I have a friend closing a store which is probably a better way to go.

This week end I visit my mom on Saturday and do a flea market on Sunday. Today I am filling an order for an for a fashion show she is putting on as she is using my earrings in it which is exciting and flattering! I hope with the exposure some orders will be placed as I plan to leave business cards with her as well.

As long as I listen to my intuition and do what feels right for ME and choose the next right action I find it leads me to proper connections I need which are peole who appreciate me and my work and are willing to pay me for it at a reasonable rate I can live with and on.

As we know it is not easy out there and it is even harder as an entrepreneur who doesn't have a steady check and is not paid by the hour when I show up at work guaranteed. I make $ if I sell. Fortunately for me I do see oportunity not lack even in this poor economy. People are still buying as they are still enjoying their lives and part of that involves once in awhile treating oneself to something nice like a unique or pretty piece of jewelry,art or photography which is where I come in. :)
