With regard to our pets this 4th of July...

'Please be extra considerate of them this July 4th won't you and check your screens in your windows! I recall a year when the fire crackers scared my cat so that she jumped out the window!! Despite a standard screen in it...she banged herself against the screen making it fall out the window with her clinging to it only to fall 5 flights below. She survived and was living down the block ror a week, despite our looking all over for her..until they brought her to the shelter where I found her. I was able to identify her because I had said she had on a red collar and also gave her description. All these things factored into my getting her back slightly cut up but..basically ok! Animals react out of fright to strange,loud noises often in odd,unpredictable ways! It is best to be cognizant of this fact and to prepare and take the precautionary measures like getting a special screen or lowering the window so they can't jump out! I wouldn't want you to go thru what I did. May you and all your furry pals enjoy a Happy,safe if not quiet 4th of July! '
