finally..Yes I am getting a smaller,brand new heater. Should be more cost efficient as well. Yesterday was pretty ugly as landlord came over demanding the rent but I told him he would not get it until he did repairs and only then would he get it minus deductions from days we went inconvenienced. This angered him causing me to call authorities on him. Don't think we will be seein him again at my door anytime soon,lol..Interim the rent money is safely tucked away in the bank and the note to the landlord from the bank is taped to my door,. He removed the last one I had for him stating that I would be deducting for days went without and he should have received the letter from the courts stating he has a court date with me regarding a rent reduction due to place being below the accessed value due to repairs not being made in a timely manner. I think in this case and all cases it is significant to establish a paper trail and to contact the proper authorities like the sheriff,town officials,code enforcement,social services and so forth to show good faith in that I tried to get things fixed and was willing to pay rent after so I don't appear in the wrong and a deadbeat tenant. This will all help my case, :).

Still no hot Water so am going to sue landlord for rent reduction in Small Claims..

court. Super came by today to measure hot water heater and said we would maybe have a new one Thursday, while I was pouring hot water I heated on the stove over the dishes in the sink. I am totally disgusted and sickened literally by this situation. I think it is inexcusable to expent rent when one doesn't supply the bare essentials of habitability to their tenants. what do you think? I have been looking but it is hard to find anything affordable and adequate.

No hot water at my home now for 4 days..

with no relief in sight. Broken hot water heater and the landlord and super know about it and don't seem to care..landlord is jOhn Cass on County Route 85 in Cairo,a slum lord..Was told by super first that he would price a new one and now he says he will vacuum the old one and see how it goes..but to be patient as he is moving. I said I can be patient but it seems that the landlord appears the firs to the month for the whole rent regardless of the fac that the place is up to par or not which is not fair. Front door is damaged and you have to slam it har t o shut it and the heat goes out the sides and drafty. Frig. door is equally damaged and again you need to slam it whiile the cold air goes out the bottom..The oven doesn't work and we wnet a week with no heat,hot water or cooking fuel when the pipes froze and the furnace broke too..We have no screens in the windows nor storm windows and so on...need I really say more!? Seems to be a common trend with the slumlords in beautiful down town Cairo,Ny and the building dept. does nothing.

I am officially out of my last home as of today...

I am glad to be gone. The sheriff department came out Monday to make sure I took whatever was left in the cottage out. He said if I didn't remove my damaged property from the front lawn, that I would be arrested. How nuts! Can they do that? I don't know. I need to consult with my attorney that has been helping me with my case from Legal Aid. Who should be arrested is my previous landlord who rents a property taht is but a summer cabin, year-round. How is that right?! Anyway, I was kind enough to sweep through the place ane my friend cleane the oven and I wiped down and emptied the frig. but was he happy/ No! Perry Holst, the slumlord and landlord "you call that clean? you are such a fuckin slob!" He said this right in front of the sheriff who said nothing but warned me when I was obnoxious to the landlord as I dropped his keys on the ground in front of him instead of hand them to him as I wanted no contact or to show him any respect. Another article on Slumlords can be found here, but in this case it is from the landlord,stating why he and his wife plan on becoming slumlords after being kind landlords who rented to people or tenants who in their opinion took advantage of them including one they couldn't even evict after 6 months of trying. I'd just like to say that this sounds odd and extreme as 3 months is the maximum time allowed to evict someone.

He said the town would fine him. Is common to have things outside the door when moving it in on my planet which is earth. It is all removed now though. Happy house hunting and renting all!

Landlords who keep your security deposit are also low lifes...

I looked at a cottage at the 'Lake Elissa' camp grounds or rather it used to be a camp site..Now 'Lisha' rents the cottages out year round. She also asks for pet insurance,pet security of $ 200. and does a credit check..She also has Welfare clients in there so not sure how they are there as people on Welfare notoriously have bad credit! Wack! She kept our security deposit we put down on the place,claiming it wss nonrefundable because she could have rented it out but was holding it for us for 2 days. Two days made all the difference?! She couldn't have taken their names and addresses and phone numbers and called them back as soon as we said we weren't taking it? Our credit sucks as we are poor and disabled and also my dog is hard to insure because she is a pitbull. Lisha you suck! My friend Bill plans to sue her for the $ 100. in small claims court. he is a Vietname Vet. Shame on you Lisha. How low can you get? Very, obviously and you are hard up too! This behavior will bit e her in the proverbial butt as it is not the first time she has done this probably nor the last but hopefully justice will be served as i think many make a side business doeing jus this. my friend and i have lost out on atleast 3 security deposits in the past. Grrr..

Moved and have to move agian

landlords don't like me or dog. Discrimination. I am looking for house will share with friend. SAw 3 today and passed one more later. Will look at that one tomorrow. Wish me luck. Oh yeh, one was real nice but wife didn't seem into me as a tenant. Will see. Either way I am looking. :/

Having car problem. At mechanics. Will know tomorrow wht is exactly wrong and if can fix gradually or better to junk it for parts as trade in to another used car. Will see.

New dog,housing issues

have been training pup with trainer to be service animal. Waiting on doctor's note too. Have had some complaints by neighbors of barking and that he is a bull terrier and they are afraid and how I am braking lease with her here. Since will be a service dog she can stay as is the law. Management doesn't supercede the law.

I have been threatened with eviction if don't remove dog. I defended her and self and am waiting on documentation from doctor saying I need her and trainer that she is in training.

Next week inspection but aide and me will get apt up to their standards. I am casual and i do basic cleaning and am not anal and live comfortably. They do not. I need it in writing on how they specifically want place kept. I need to call my advocate and get something from my doctor regarding this

as my health can be effected by these people. Mgr. brought up something from last year before she took over management as of 6/1/07. I said my side of things.

She then says I have to get my cat to vet for exam and shots when she is an indoor cat and is fine. I don't want to take her.

She also wants me to sign a new lease when old one is still in effect til 6/30/07 of next year and place is funded by same company. I won't as have a bad feeling about it. UTA,United Tenants Association said I don't have to as is illegal.

Just trying to get them off my back. They however seem to bring up other things. Place is substandard as things are not being fixed in timely manner. That is ok but I am looked at with a microscope. Feel like I live in fish bowl here.

Neighbors have spoken of me in ear shot. They get away with it, yet my complaints are not heard. She believes them as there are 6 of them against me. There are 24 units here and the rest don't call as live their lives.

I need to contact my advocate to get help with this as I feel like I am preparing a case and am an attorney. I need someone to protect my interests. Will see therapist MOnday. Need her to write something about how last year they pressured me and I got sick. DAn and John staff here were disrespectful to me as I don't keep apt like them. They also did surprise inspection and only gave me a 1/2 to fix up before came back. Violated constitution search and seizure. They should have given written notice.

Will keep you up to speed with all this. I look at inspirational quotes and also on motivation interim as tho cheap I live in a very unhealthy environment (negative) and since I am a sensitive I am very effected by it espcially since i work from home. I look for car and then when have look for a cottage in private setting.

I got to stay in a park with my dog today as was with dog trainer

Was getting a lesson. They said no dogs here and I said she is a work dog not a pet. Later today I walked into Mobil Matrt with Carvel and subway attached to it and I got a sub and sundae. Manager didn't have a problem but young chick behind county didn't want dog and I said you all have to let me in or I call police and who ever doesn't let me in can be arrested and place gets fined as is the law. She shut up fast. Also I said I got in park after she said they don't allow dogs. I live in a rural community behind the times who only seem to understand blingd and deaf with work dogs and not those with invisible ones like me. I carry not from my doctor as need Brandy and proof of training from trainer. Brandy is a rescue trained to be assistance dog. I already battled for her in my housing agianst about 6 closed minded mean spirted old bitties as live in senior disabled housing. They tried to get me out as I'm not 100 like them. They are gossipy too and do it as I pass or near my windows and doors. Makes me nutty. Sometimes there is an art show or there is a free swim at pool or bird watching in park,art class but while I can afford to see it and participate paying $ 10 round trip for taxi gets costly. WAs supposed to get $ for transport but funding lost due to budget cut backs. rest here do own thing. Noone here to talk to or be with. So is lonely. Average person wants nothing to do with me as not much in common. I have no husband as I attracted users and abusers and no kids as I felt not fair as I felt I wouldn't make a good mother as medicine fatigues me and I go thru memory loss so don't do alot in day. Hard to motivate self and concentrate too. I often feel like I'm in a box. While there are grouips to support those with disabilities, other than day programs which not alot goin on, there is not much for those with disabilites. Would be nice if I could attend an art class or studio art time with local artists,jam with other singers and guitarist,attend a writer's work shop,meet with a gardening group. There are some in my area but I haven't been able to get to any.

I came up here with a freind but he is a dry alcoholic who is irresponsible with $ and doesn't open mail or handle his affairs well. WE came up north from outside city together but while he visits occasionally I only have me to depend on. He likes to cook,garden,pets and is a good listener. That is all.
Sadly I get quite down and find it hard to get inspired as little $,no car(shared one),few people to do things with,most work or go to school and my life is different. I accept this. I have been looking for used car '95 or older from private owner as don't have much to play with. Once get can be out of here alot.

I asserted self today and wasn't passive or aggressive. May have been bullied and victimized and even am now in my housing but I stood my ground today

You can change your LIFE simply by how you look at it NOW and altering the way you think. Stop giving your personal power to others and what they think of you and what you do and create your own reality and world that brings you joy. Get out of your rut. This zaps your energy because it creates hopelessness and sadness. Some action may be required but it's worth it. It may be scarey but we have to give up some things,people to have some thing better. ex. you will not meet a new one for a relationship if you are still with the old one. It is important to do own thing and if you are even friends with someone cotrolling thru anger if doesn't get own way and words and actons on your part have failed..it is important tahtn for you to set limits without even saying it. Make yourself suddenly busy,unavailable,minimize contact,go out more and get to know others. cAn be scarey meeting new people and possibly facing rejecton but isn't bad if done in an activity where people are meeting for an art class and may go for coffee after. You can speak of you but don't hog chat. Ask about next person. Be aware if you feel like complaining,drop judgement,accept all,don't compare. be present in the moment. Not in past or future. Be open to new experiences instead of being so influence by the bad that may have happened. Block it out and stay busy. If live in apast or future dyou poo on today. Make yur realtiy better by the things you do daily. Create your own beautiful world. Note* This takes time,just as you didn't get this way over nite,you will not get healthier quickly either. You will improve tho if you commit yourself to this daily. Set a goal. click on page that pertains to what you want to work on.

Altho I am an artist the focus of this site is on health and how to maintain good overall health using SPIES. This encompasses the whole human being's needs and not just one part. I give you tips on how to tap into the spiritual,physical,intellectual,emotional and social parts to self and feed those needs daily. The art is my creative side which I think we all have. I find it relaxing and rewarding:) There is an emphasis on the emotional as I am trying to heal my damaged emotions.
